November’s Top Quorn Blogger Mentions!

November saw bloggers exploring some fantastic winter warmer recipes with hearty and healthy meals featuring some of our meat free products, which showcase just how versatile Quorn can be. Our selection this month includes a tasty Quorn Meat Free Chicken Pieces, Pepper & Mushroom stir-fry dish, a low-carb Quorn Meat Free Pork Steak stir-fry, Quorn Meat Free Chicken Fajita Strips with rice and a wholesome Lasagne recipe made with Quorn Mince.

Rachel of rachelcotterill.com, almost a life-long vegetarian, loves mushrooms and she took the opportunity to use them in her stir-fry incorporating our Quorn Meat Free Chicken Pieces alongside onion, peppers, garlic, and sweetcorn mixed in with coconut cream, tomato puree and a sprinkle of Spanish paprika for a powerful flavour punch – all served on a bed of brown basmati rice - one of the best slow-energy release carbohydrates.

Our second featured dish this month is the Quorn Meat Free Pork Steak stir-fry from Katie of cakevsscales.com, which is not only meat free but is also low carb and gluten free. Katie served our Quorn Meat Free Pork Steaks alongside broccoli rice – easy to make, just pop some broccoli in a processor to make it into small rice-like pieces. Katie found that our Steak was the “perfect complement to my lighter stir-fry as it works perfectly with the seasoned vegetables”, she also is happy to know that one Steak offers 13.7g of protein whilst only being 132 calories each.

Rice has been a popular side dish to Quorn this month and Sylvia of happiness-is-homemade.com used it alongside our Quorn Meat Free Fajita Strips to make a tasty meal for herself and her partner with a mix of sizzling veggies. Sylvia explains that using Quorn Meat Free Fajita Strips “saves time and they’re not expensive compared to fresh chicken breast with fajita seasoning.” The dish was served with fresh lime to add an extra zing to this Mexican inspired meal.

Lasagne is the perfect Italian dish for winter, with its wealth of warming ingredients – and who can resist a delicious melted cheese topping? Tami of mummyoftwo.com has recreated her version of a lasagne using Quorn Mince as a healthier meal option for her family, which she served with a green salad and garlic bread. Tami thought the Quorn version of this classic was really tasty and “would definitely substitute on a regular basis for Quorn Mince.”
