Fitness Bucket List – Quorn Blogger Ambassadors

Fitness Bucket List – Quorn Blogger Ambassadors

A few years ago, the only fitness related item on my ‘bucket list’ was to run the London Marathon. I was so far from being a runner that even this challenge seemed unfeasible. Now I’m gearing up to my third full marathon in Paris on the 6th April, and hoping to run a sub 4hr. If I succeed I’ll be finishing about an hour faster than my first marathon in London 2012!
Mo Farah puts his success down to training hard and eating right; products like Quorn Mince are a healthy source of protein* so if like me you are training for a marathon, don’t forget to eat right!
As I get more into fitness, my aspirations and goals have changed dramatically, here’s my fitness bucket list as it stands!

1. Qualify for the Boston Marathon

To even have the option of entering the ballot for the Boston Marathon you need to have run a fast enough qualifying time. For my age group, 18-34 year olds, that is a 3.35.00 finishing time. This means knocking a good 35 minutes off my current marathon PB.

2. Run all the Marathon Majors before I’m 30

This one is tied to the previous goal, as to be able to tick all 6 Marathon Majors (London, Berlin, Chicago, New York, Tokyo and Boston) off my list, I’ll have to qualify for Boston (or get a charity place!) I’ve got 4 and half years to get there, and 4 more marathons to run!

3. Climb Kilimanjaro

After climbing the highest mountain in Asia, Mount Kinibalu a few years ago, climbing Kili, the highest mountain in Africa got added to my ‘must do’ list. Plus, if Chris Moyles can do it, surely I can?

4. Cycle to Paris

After taking on the BHF London to Brighton cycle last year and thoroughly enjoying it, I’d love to take go on more cycling adventures. I cannot imagine what an amazing feeling it must be to circle around the Arc de Triomphe, having made it over the 200 plus miles under your own steam. Nor how good the crepes, pastries, cheese, chocolate and wine afterwards will taste….

5. Complete the 3 Peaks Challenge

Last Summer a group of my male friends took on this challenge as a boys only tour, and finished just within the cut off time (their excuse was a dodgy van!). The girls and I are determined not only that we can take on the three peaks too, but that we can complete it faster than the boys. Bring it on!

And the biggest, scariest, (most secret) ambition of all, is that one day I’d like to be able to call myself an Ironman. But shhh, don’t tell anyone.  I am taking my first  baby steps towards this dream by entering my first triathlon this summer, Bleinham Palace- albeit the Super Sprint distance!
