December’s Top Quorn Blogger Mentions!

December’s Top Quorn Blogger Mentions!

Trying out new recipes is a great way to discover new ingredients and flavours that you might not have considered using before. When it’s cold outside you really want something to warm you up from the inside and December saw the use of some fantastic spices alongside our healthy protein products, such as paprika, chilli and cumin to give meals an extra flavour kick. Take a look at this month’s top blogger mentions for some inspiration!

Meat Free Monday is a great way to encourage alternative thinking when it comes to protein and Donna of thelondonmum.me chose to try a Spanish inspired dish for her meat free meal. She combined Quorn Standard Sausages with peppers, onion, tomatoes, cannelloni beans and the big flavour of smoked paprika and chilli to give her Spanish Sausage Casserole a boost. “All in all a really yummy successful meal and I’m likely to look for more recipes using the Quorn website.”

Although Vikki of cantmoveitclimbit.blogspot.co.uk loves cooking from scratch, this month she gave our Chef's Selection Thai Green Curry - coconut sauce, with ginger and lemongrass - a go as she was looking for something quick but tasty! Despite being a bit dubious that her dish would cook in only 8 minutes Vikki was happy with the look and taste of her meal – even saving an extra portion to take to work the next day. “I haven't used Quorn products regularly for a long time but I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the new products and ranges they have brought out recently.”

Using one of his favourite Jamie Oliver recipes with a twist, Kip of kiphakes.com cooked up Creamy Cheese and Pea Mini Pasta with Quorn Bacon this December. He recommends using small Conchiglie “seashell” pasta, which is perfectly matched with a creamy sauce and a big favourite with his two children. Kip used 5 Quorn Bacon Rashers alongside peas, parmesan, cheddar, crème fraiche and of course the pasta to make a family friendly vegetarian dish prepared in just 12 minutes, as “the Quorn Bacon requires next to no time to cook”.

Sylvia of happiness-is-homemade.com is a self-confessed foodie originally from Poland, and this month she created a mouth-watering Chilli. Using Quorn Meat Free Mince alongside onion, sweetcorn, peppers, red beans and some fantastic spices such as cumin, garlic and chilli, Sylvia served her chilli with rice for the perfect winter dish. She went on to say that “Quorn has the taste, appearance and texture of meat, perfect if you’re thinking about eating less meat or creating healthier versions of your favourite everyday meals.”
