Reducing our carbon footprint with the Carbon Trust

Reducing our carbon footprint with the Carbon Trust

Put quite simply, Quorn is better for you and better for the planet! Two years ago we were the first global meat alternative brand to achieve product carbon footprint certification from the Carbon Trust. This organisation has helped us to measure, manage and reduce the environmental impact belonging to a range of our most popular products, including frozen Quorn Meat Free Mince and Pieces, whilst improving our resource management and operational sustainability. It meant we could offer tangible proof to our employees, suppliers, shareholders and most importantly our customers that we are committed to sustainability. Given the ethical, health and environmental benefits of Quorn, it is no surprise that corporate responsibility is placed at the heart of all we do.

We are still working closely alongside The Carbon Trust and have recently achieved an impressive reduction of 15% for the carbon footprint of our products, these reductions were achieved through the hard work and dedication of our operations team. We will continue to work in collaboration with them as they strive to improve the energy and materials efficiency at our manufacturing sites.

Quorn provides an efficient and sustainable way of producing a healthy new protein with an environmental impact that is much lower than that of meat. We’re happy to take the lead in the food industry in managing our impact on the environment. We are dedicated to saving carbon, energy, water, and natural resources whilst still meeting the rising demand for our products. We are immensely proud to be a part of an emerging business culture whereby corporate sustainability is now an essential part of business management and we’ll continue to further improve the sustainability of what we do.
