The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the job holder is responsible for providing direction, guidance and advice to the maintenance teams and for the completion of planned or corrective work, fault finding and breakdown repairs.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring the optimum machine performance is achieved through continuous improvement activities.
  • To proactively develop and encourage a positive culture towards Health, Safety and Environmental welfare of all Engineering colleagues.
  • To project a professional image always and proactively encourage continuous improvement in all aspects of Engineering Best Practice by example.
  • Ensure that the shift maintenance team members have appropriate training and development, and that the quality of their work is of the highest standard.
  • Improvement in plant reliability, whilst reducing costs.
  • Full compliance with all appropriate standards and legislation.

  • To understand all the customer’s requirements of the maintenance team, ensuring that these expectations are met by a responsive customer focussed approach by the team.
  • Previous experience in chilled, frozen or ambient foods would be an advantage
