Quorn® is on a mission to produce delicious, sustainable foods to meet the growing protein demands of our world’s ever-expanding population. When you set out to solve a global problem, you need to do things differently. So, what makes Quorn unique?

Quorn mycoprotein

Quorn mycoprotein is the unique protein ingredient in all Quorn products. It's made from a natural protein that is sourced from the Earth and fermented (like many of our favourite foods & drinks). This process creates a sustainable meat alternative that has a similar taste and texture to meat compared to other plant-based proteins.

Quorn mycoprotein is derived from an abundant natural organism called Fusarium Venenatum. It was discovered in the South East of England, and despite its small size, it was found to have enormous nutritional value.

Process

To produce the amount of Quorn mycoprotein needed to feed millions of people, we developed a fermentation process that enables it to grow. It’s similar to the way that beer and yogurt are also made. We blend nutrients derived from maize and wheat with air and essential minerals to ensure that every product tastes great!

Next, we add a small amount of egg white (or potato extract in our vegan products) and shape it to form. It is then frozen, giving all of our products a remarkably similar structure, texture and consistency to meat.

What happens next is up to you. Quorn products can be used to make endless creations - you can fry, simmer, oven bake and in many cases, eat it straight from the pack it – such as our vegetarian and vegan deli and snacking ranges. Quorn is super convenient when you don’t have time to cook a meal from scratch, or simply need a quick snack at home or on-the-go. Using Quorn within your favourite recipes is an easy swap in whether breakfast, lunch or dinner.

How about these succulent, sticky and chicken-like gochujang skewers - they're not only super easy to prep and grill, they taste amazing and are high in protein too.

Or our deliciously crunchy Quorn Pesto and Mozzarella Escalopes, which are oozing with melting mozzarella and a fragrant pesto to add an Italiano spark to your mealtimes?
