UniQuorns with Salt and Pepper Chips and Sweet and Sour Sauce

Ingredients

  • Quorn UniQuorns - Vegan Unicorn Nuggets
  • For the Salt & Pepper Chips:
  • 0.5 tsp MSG (or salt)
  • 0.5 tsp white pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Chinese 5-spice
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • Oven chips
  • Half an onion – cut into small slices
  • Half a green pepper – cut into small slices
  • For the Sweet & Sour Sauce:
  • 0.25 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 0.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp cornflour mixed with 0.5 tbsp water

Method

  1. Pop the oven chips & UniQuorns in the oven according to the packet instructions.
  2. Mix the MSG, white pepper, Chinese 5-spice, garlic powder & chilli flakes together.
  3. Add a splash of oil to a wok and fry the onions and green peppers until softened and starting to brown.
  4. Throw the cooked chips in the wok, add the salt & pepper seasoning and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Meanwhile, Add the pineapple juice, brown sugar, white vinegar, ketchup and soy sauce to a pan and bring to a simmer. Add the cornflour slurry and whisk together until the sauce is nice and thick.
  6. Serve up the UniQuorns on top of the salt & pepper chips with some sweet & sour sauce.
  7. Enjoy!
